Character development is high on the agenda for schools since the launch of the revised Ofsted inspection framework in September 2019 and the subsequent Department for Education guidance, which identified six benchmarks for the most important features of good provision for character education.
Throughout March and April 2020, SLQ will be hosting a series of free update briefings for school senior leaders, taking a look at the importance of character development and how it is reflected in the new Ofsted inspection framework.
In addition, we’ll introduce how a school have used our Personal Skills Programme to deliver against the revised Ofsted requirements and DfE benchmarks. Each event is free to attend and will take no more than one hour.
As part of each event, you'll discover the three awards making up the Personal Skills Programme and how they offer a whole-school approach to developing character and resilience in your pupils.
