In March 2020, we’ll be exhibiting at the Association of School and College Leaders (ASCL) Annual Conference.
The event takes place at ICC Birmingham on Friday 13th and Saturday 14th March and is a great opportunity for senior leaders in schools and colleges to take part in a series of inspirational and innovative workshops and keynote speeches.
This year’s event focuses on Diverse Leadership, exploring a wide range of topics on the subject including the individual that work in education, their roles and responsibilities and the synergies that exist by the many organisations involved in helping young people realise their potential.
Among the list of speakers scheduled to feature at the conference are the Secretary of State for Education, Gavin Williamson MP, World-cup winning rugby player Maggie Alphonsi MBE and HMCI Amanda Spielman from Ofsted, demonstrating the diverse views on offer to attendees.
Throughout the conference, SLQ will be present to meet delegates and discuss the ways in which our Qualifications and Awards can help them achieve their own ambitions in respect of helping learners develop their skills and prepare for their next step.
In particular, we will be showcasing our new whole-school programme for building skills and developing character, the Personal Skills Programme, which provides schools with a series of awards for learners from Year 7-11, presenting them with tasks designed to build their communication, self-belief, teamwork, self-management and problem-solving.
By developing these skills, pupils stand to increase their resilience in the face of challenge, preparing them for wherever their education journey leads them next, or alternatively into employment.
