As a growing subject area, esports represents an opportunity to engage a whole new audience of students. We want to help them build essential leadership skills through their passion for this new, exciting and truly dynamic subject.
Which is why we have developed our Level 3 Esports Qualification.
Having grown rapidly in popularity in recent years, esport is now a popular discipline with people of all ages – and the start of a potential career path for young people to aspire towards.
Esports provide participants with the opportunity to compete in a variety of video games with and against people from all over the world. By working as a team to overcome challenges, build their skills and develop winning tactics, esports players go through many of the same emotions and experiences as players of traditional sports.
In essence, esport is another great way of engaging a brand new cohort of learners to become leaders through a subject they feel passionately about.
Our formally recognised Level 3 qualification – the first of its kind in the UK – has been developed in partnership with the College of Esports with today’s education landscape in mind. We want to empower all students with the skills they need to thrive in the future and esports is a great way to do this.
By developing essential leadership skills – Communication, Teamwork, Self-Belief, Problem Solving and Self-Management – learners will grow their confidence in leading and supporting others through esports activities and events. These are skills which can be applied to all areas of their lives, helping them play an active role in their community (both online and offline!), with the possibility of becoming positive catalysts for change in society.
The Level 3 Qualification in Esports Leadership consists of seven mandatory units that will help learners take the theoretical knowledge they have of the subject area and apply it in the context of esports activities. These units are: -
